Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of products for the gift and souvenir market. They are growing as a leader in sustainability.

They are currently looking to fill an Accountant position. This is a full-time position, located in Atlanta, GA.

This role is for a person who has varied accounting experience and is looking for the next step in their career. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accountant will have 24/7 support, but must be able to run the day-to-day work and reports independently.  The growth potential within the company and the position is nearly uncapped for the right individual.  This position will require the individual to take over and run specific areas within the department periodically as well as have the potential to grow into a multi-site role. 

Responsibilities:

As part of the accounting department this accountant will be responsible for one or more specific areas such as accounts payable, payments, reconciliations within the department and at the same time support the Finance Director on the following:

  • Maintain financial records and ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
  • Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports on daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis.
  • Create synergies and foster positive communication between all departments within the company.
  • Monitor and analyze financial accounting data.
  • Handle the company’s transactions and debts and complete cash flow forecasting.
  • Assist in the company’s financial audits.
  • Follow proper accounting procedures to reach financial objectives.
  • Making recommendations to the Finance director
  • Responsible for compliance à coordinating with external business partners (business taxes, census reporting, withholding tax notices, business personal property tax etc.)
  • Must have continued improvement mindset to drive efficiency gains within own role as well as entire finance department.

Competencies/Skills:

  • Proven experience in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Analysis, Bank Reconciliation, Calculate Depreciation, Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting, General Ledger Accounting, Month-End Close, Quarter-End Close, Revenue Recognition, Year-End Close
  • Advanced skills with spreadsheets
  • GAAP Standards
  • Accounting Software (D365 Business Central experience a major advantage)
